The Guide To Surf Fishing

  • Need a Guide to Surf Fishing?
  • Do you like learning new and old tricks on how to hook and land more fish?
  • Want to learn about a specific aspect in surf fishing?
  • Or do you just like learning about new techniques and developments in sport fishing?

Sure you do! Every angler can learn something new every time on the water. All anglers have a flaw and that is only utilizing the tactics that are popular in your geographical area. That’s the ways we do it, that’s the way we’ve always done it mentality. I’ve learned on every trip I’ve been on the water. Whether it was just a simple hook difference, how to increase your catch ratio or how different species spawn I’ve tried to learn something to benefit me in the future, especially when i try fishing new waters.

How much information do you need to learn to throw a hook in the water?
Throwing a hook in the water is just a part of it. You need to increase your chances by selecting where to fish, and what to expect in that spot. What species, sizes, locations, and when to fish the areas can all be useful information for a great day of fishing.

That’s where we come in. Our guide to surf fishing is designed for the complete newbie in mind, but we want to deliver information that is useful for the seasoned “expert”. We want to start with the basics and build up our data to include more advanced angling and techniques.

With so many sites on the web who do I trust for great information?
Many angling “experts” try to get you into their site promising drastic changes in your fishing results and how many fish you put in the bucket. While some changes in your fishing can result in huge positive changes in your success rate (like actually leaving your line in the water instead of constantly checking your hook – that’s an easy one) most tactical shifts in fishing result in slight improvements in your landing percentages.

Carolina Beaches -Read about NC and SC beach getaways, oceanfront resorts and tourist attractions.

“Experts” are sometimes not all there cracked up to be. The term expert is given to a person that has 10+ years’ experience in a given field of expertise. In that sense every recreational fisherman is practically an expert angler. Don’t believe the hype.
I don’t claim to be an expert, rather a fishing junkie. I enjoy learning the ins and outs of all marine life. I took up surf fishing as a kid. Visiting pier and beaches we took family vacations to was a treat to see these monster fish (Whiting’s and Spots – today that thought makes me laugh) that were so much bigger than my normal lake fish. I was “HOOKED” instantly. Every trip to the beach my tiny Shakespeare rod and reel combo (I bought with my own money as a kid from a pier shop) was the first thing I packed.

Since starting writing on this site I’ve even looked into Oceanography classes because my thirst for knowledge has drawn me in deeper. That’s me in a nut shell. Randy Dwiggins Expert Angler (I’ve been fishing for more than 10 years :)) fishing junkie. I’m on a quest to learn about all the ins and outs of saltwater surf fishing. Starting with the all my experiences to drawn information about, and then learning some of my flawed skills in fishing.

This Site is what YOU make of it
I want this guide to surf fishing to benefit you. I want to give you information that is helpful to you while on the water and off. I often think of developments in my own methods while off the water and then retry and hone my new approach the next trip. That’s exactly what I want to provide for you. Easy to learn and utilize methods to improve your fishing success, with our guide to surf fishing.

Your input and suggestions will help fuel the fire and steer us in the direction that best suits your interests. Please feel free to contact us at info@saltwater-surf-fishing.com for any and all your questions and suggestions you might have for our guide to surf fishing.

Also we have a dedicated intrest in bringing you links to other sites that have valuable information for anglers. Destinations, tips and techniques, fishing reports, as well as equipment reviews are all things we like to know and when we find great information on the web we like to share it. Just like this site about Naples, Florida
